MAC Plumage eyeshadow look with Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Nude lip

Last post was a bit heavy so I’ll give you this makeup look to lighten the mood slightly before another Depression Haul. I had been saving lots of my new products to photograph so after I took photos I put them all on my face. This look centres around MAC Plumage eyeshadow, the great teal-blue shadow from my last post. It has shit pigmentation (no really, it’s awful) but I layered and layered it until it looked decent. I tried it with a couple of different lip colours, both of which I’ve shown here, and one of which is the grey-blue Halsey one which is damn awesome.

MAC Plumage eyeshadow look

I blended MAC Plumage out with Soft Brown (also from MAC) because every eye makeup look benefits from some Soft Brown. No, seriously. The whole orange-blue complementary colours thing doesn’t hurt, either. I kept my brows pretty chill with just a bit of brow pencil because they’re newly waxed and looking the tidiest they’ve ever been.

In the first two photos in this post I am wearing the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Iconic Nude. This remains one of my favourite lip colours because it’s so neutral and similar in tone to my own lips. Over the lip pencil I’m wearing The Estee Edit Flash Photo Gloss, which has a blue tinge which is meant to make your teeth look whiter, but my mouth is closed in both photos so we’ll never know if it works! I suspect I need more than a lipgloss to make my teeth look stunningly white.

MAC Plumage with MAC Halsey lipstick

The second lip look, and my favourite (although I’ll forgive you if you say it washes me out in this photo) has the Halsey lipstick from MAC. It’s got that blue tone that ties in with the eyeshadow but is grey and neutral enough not to compete with it. While the lipstick has pretty decent opacity, I lined my lips with the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Smoke first, just because I was going out and I didn’t want to be caught out looking patchy. (It worked.)

Tell me which lip colour you think looks best with MAC Plumage in the comments!

Ugh. That Halsey lipstick is killing it. Reckon it’d look amazing wearing something in light tones. Maybe very soft peach or mint green. Having some lipstick envy today. x

    • Ooh I don’t do well with light eyeshadow (see my last pastel post) but peachy tones with a crease done in bronzer would look dope, I might have to try that!
