SKIN | Escentual French skincare sale haul

IMG_3243

Escentual has up to 1/3 off French skincare until the end of the month, and it is almost the end of the month, but the things I bought arrived just before the end of the month so I thought I’d show you them and let you know you’ve got like, a day to get amongst this sale.

I had to grab another NUXE Reve de Miel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm because my pot is getting a bit low and it is definitely the most effective lip balm I have ever tried. I say most effective and not straight up best because you have to put it on with your finger (which is annoying if you have long nails) and it’s a bit heavy to use under lipstick, but for a bedtime balm this is your guy.

I decided to try the NUXE Reve de Miel Lip Moisturising Stick under the assumption it would be a stick version of the aforementioned guy in a pot, and therefore the best lip balm in the world, with no drawbacks whatsoever. Upon its arrival I have discovered this is not the case. It’s one of those balms that works for an hour and then your lips feel more parched than ever. Don’t bother.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Fluide is the light, soothing and actually moisturising moisturiser that I’ve been searching for. I bought it after reading Ruth’s post about it and after using it a few times I am sold. Really nice under foundation and all that stuff. I’m on a slow boat back to even skin after a few tumultuous months, and this moisturiser is staying on board (ughhh I hate myself).

I’m a really sweaty person and my brief foray into deodorant powder confirmed that I need some pretty heavy duty sweat protection. I figured I might as well try the Vichy 48hr Anti-Perspirant Treatment Roll OnIt seems to work so far, is cheaper than the hardout Rexona stuff I ordinarily use, and is tidier than that weird powder.

Some more Bioderma because the little bottle I picked up in Australia is getting low. I use Bioderma to take off my makeup every night before washing my face, and it does a really good job of removing everything (including the Benefit They’re Real mascara, which can be a bitch). Bioderma’s not that cheap, given it’s a kind of unnecessary step, so the sale is a good incentive to buy some more or try it out if you haven’t already.

Have you bought anything in the Escentual French pharmacy sale? Are you going to? You’ve got until the end of June (UK time) to do so!

  • You are so right about the Nuxe Reve de Miel stick which I get over the pot version (for OCD reasons, same reason I can never ‘treat’ myself to By Terry Baulm de Rose ^_^)

I’ve been eyeing up the Vichy Corrective Foundation but slightly scared I’ll end up with the wrong colour!

    • Ahh, it’s so risky buying foundation online! It’s a shame Vichy isn’t available in New Zealand to test the shades. You might have to take the sale as a sign to just go for it? 😉

All these products sounds like they’d be good for me – but I’m too poor for good skincare stuff haha. Would be interested to read how you’ve found the products if you ever write that kind of post 🙂

    • I’m planning on writing a post about my current skincare routine, and several of these will definitely be in there!

      What’s your skin type like?

      • I am useless at replying to the replies of my comments haha. I don’t really know – it’s definitely quite dry most days but I have the odd oily day too 🙂

  • I’ve never liked brands like Blistex, I think because of the glossy texture! The pot balm is definitely unlike any other balm I had tried before, and I can’t wear it with lipstick, but its good for times like this week where I nervously bit my lips until the skin was shredded and nothing else fixed it lol

I really want to try some of the la roche posay stuff. I use bioderma religiously, and it is incredible, so it’s only logical to branch out into other french brands! x
